Dr Solomon Berahas
Solomon Berahas is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tiresias S.A., having been a member of the Board since 1996. From 2021 until January 2025, he served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the company.
He began his professional career at Citibank in 1983, initially in New York as a Senior Credit Officer and subsequently in Athens, where he served as Managing Director of Credit Cards Business and then as the Country Chief Credit Officer.
In 2002, he was appointed Chief Risk Officer for Retail Banking in Greece and Southeast Europe at Eurobank.
From 2012 to 2014, he was a member of the Board of Directors of Piraeus Bank, representing the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund. Between 2016 and 2025, he served as an independent non-executive member of the Board of Directors of Piraeus Bank.
He has also served on the Boards of Directors of Geniki Bank and Deloitte Greece, and has worked as a business consultant in Greece and abroad.
Since 2024, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of Snappi. He is also Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation, a Board member of the Hellenic Society for Disabled Children (ELEPAP), and a Board member of the Hellenic Association of Societes Anonymes and Entrepreneurship.
He holds a B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering, a M.Sc. in Information Systems, and a Ph.D. in Operations Research from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. He has also completed the Advanced Professional Certificate in Business Administration at the Stern School of Business, New York University, and has received the Certificate in Corporate Governance from INSEAD. He has extensive teaching and research experience.
Mr Ιlias Xirouhakis
Mr. Ιlias Xirouhakis has more than 30 years of experience in the financial sector, in senior and top management positions, both in Greece and abroad. Most of the organizations he worked for are among the global leaders in their field.
In the 1990s, he held positions at Visa International in London, the company's headquarters for Europe, Middle East and Africa, as well as at Thomson Reuters in the United Kingdom, as a Senior Fixed Income analyst (DCM). In Greece, he successfully served in senior and top management positions in banks (National Bank, Marfin Popular Bank, Geniki Bank, Interbank), as well as in other companies in the broader financial sector (Interamerican Cards – Geniki Cards and Financial Services, Marfin collections services, Zeus Recovery Fund, etc.). He also served for 7 years, until its abolition in December 2024, as Executive Member of the Board and CEO of the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund (HFSF), its longest-serving Head since its establishment in 2010.
He is a graduate of London Metropolitan University, holding a degree with Honors in management sciences, quantitative methods of business forecasting and microeconomics. He also holds a master's degree (M.Sc.) in macroeconomics and European Union economics from the University of Exeter, United Kingdom, specializing in the monetary policy of the European Union and the common currency. Additionally, he holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Banking and Financial Management, with a specialization in Risk Management (Credit & Operational Risk) and Electronic/Digital Payment Systems, from the same University. He is also a graduate of the International Directors Banking Program of INSEAD University (France), specializing in Corporate Governance of International Banking and Financial Institutions. Finally, he holds a diploma in Corporate Governance from the International Management Institute of Lausanne (IMD - Lausanne).
Dr Petros Kapasouris
Dr Petros Kapasouris is General Manager at Tiresias, having worked at the company for more than 25 years in various positions, such as Management Consultant, Business Development Manager, Production Manager and Head of Research and Development.
He is responsible for shaping and implementing the company's strategy, its business planning and digital transformation, as well as for developing services with added value in the new era of information, overseeing the development of new sources of data, credit scoring systems and decision-making support systems.
In the past he had worked as a business consultant at Intrasoft, responsible for the strategic design of computer systems, business organisation and business process re-engineering. He has worked in the USA as a research and development engineer at Alphatech (currently BAE - British Aerospace) in the field of aeronautics control system theory, human performance modelling and decision-making automation systems. He has also worked at GE Aviation (USA) in designing automatic control system methodologies for aircraft and helicopter engines, and at Omega Engineering (USA) as a temperature control systems engineer.
He holds a Ph.D. and a M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Μ.Ι.Τ (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Connecticut.
Dr Kapasouris has published papers on topics such as credit score calculation, credit check, strategy and strategic design of computer systems. His published research focuses on multi-variable control systems and their applications in the aerospace industry, algorithms for optimising resource allocation and performance evaluation of human-machine collaboration in large organisations.
